Have you ever felt sad, on the verge of tears, cranky, angry, or just out of sorts for no apparent reason?
You are not alone.
If you’re navigating grief whether it’s the first, tenth, or twentieth year, when your life goes sideways, look at your calendar.
It could be an anniversary reaction.
Anniversary reactions can pop up when we least expect them and take us by surprise.
It’s Steve’s birthday, 6 years since my mother passed away, and two since my dog, Migo, died.
The first few days of March are filled with birthdays and anniversaries for me.
For me, March comes in like a memory; in my case like a memory lion with full force.
August is another month like this. Steve died two days before my birthday.
Five days after my birthday, my best friend, Liz, died. It takes a lot of concerted effort to feel celebratory.
What about you?
Are there times when you have a barrage of difficult dates converging?
In this week’s podcast, I talk about birthdays and anniversaries.
Watch it here and then write to me and let me know if and how it applies to you. I will answer you!
If you or someone you know is navigating grief and would like a compassionate, nonjudgmental ear, let’s set up a free strategy call.
I have opened space in my schedule for three new coaching clients.
Coaching is client-directed and helps identify how you want to live your life and develop a plan to get there.
Imagine going from muddling through your life to thriving and finding joy.
Until the next time, I love and appreciate you.
With hugs and healing,
Amy
