Happy October! I am finally accepting that no matter how much I want to slow down the movement of time, it just isn’t possible! Days turn to nights, nights turn into new days. Over and over again! It isn’t in my power, or yours to stop it.

Autumn is slowly creeping into the northeast. Leaves are changing color and falling to the ground. The sun is setting earlier and rising later. We are already seeing shorter days.

What are the things you love about autumn?

Is it the pumpkins, jack o’lanterns, decorations? Apple cider? Apple cider donuts? Pumpkin spice anything and everything?

For me, it is the beautiful and vibrant colors of the leaves and the knowledge that Thanksgiving isn’t too far away. I also love the smell of fires burning in fireplaces, and cuddling up in front of mine with a book and Hershey at my feet.

Pinch me!

I am so excited to share that my transformational story will be published in Life Shifts being released on November 1, 2023.

Finding Beauty in Change – my latest podcast released 10/3

Change can be invigorating, just like autumn’s first blast of chilled air.

Sometimes change is fun, even funny. Listen, and laugh, as I tell the story of my most recent change and its reversal. Sometimes if we don’t like the result we can change it back.

There are times, like with death, illness, and other losses we cannot change what happened. As much as we may wish to go back to life as it was before the event we cannot make that happen. However, two things I have learned are that change happens for us AND that while life will never be the same as before, it could be better.

Is there something you are ready to change in your life? Big or little? After a life quake (life transition on steroids) you might be able to redefine who you want to be, what roles you want to play, and what hobbies or interests to pursue.

Please let me know what you think after you listen here.

If you’re struggling with the effects of a lifequake, know that you’re not alone. Remember that it’s more than okay to take time for self-care and prioritize your emotional well-being.

Seek support from loved ones, join a support group, work with a professional, like me, who specializes in grief. You can schedule a time to chat with me here.

Until the next time, I love and appreciate you,

Amy
